Professional Experience
Tom as co-owner of Century 21 Goldsmith/Williams, a residential real estate company, which was acquired by Mel Foster Co. in 1980 at which time Tom joined Mel Foster Commercial Real Estate Services. Since 1980 Tom has specialized in major and minor land development projects, site selection and retail leasing.
From 1964 to 1974 Tom was an estimator for Timberline Engineering Co., an over lot grading and utility installation construction company, which was located in Bettendorf, Iowa. His duties included estimating all over lot grading and underground utility work. Other responsibilities included permitting, working with city inspection personnel along with keeping the clients happy.
From 1974 to 1980 Tom and his partner created and owned a residential real estate company. Over the six year period of its existence it had grown to sixteen full time sales associates before being purchased by Mel Foster Co.
Major accomplishments also include being named the preferred Broker and Broker of Record for his part in the creation of the MidAmerican Office Building along with the Radisson Hotel, both located in downtown Davenport.
